Unfortunately, I don’t have an especially uplifting message. It certainly has been a frustrating start to the season and still we cannot commence normal play.
The announcement of the move to Level Delta 2 from midnight Tuesday 7th Sept has introduced more problems. The recommendations of the previous Level 2 allowed us to get on the green but with significant restrictions, also affecting our social activities.
The recommendations from Bowls NZ, in an update just received, is even more restrictive. We will let you know as soon as possible how we are going to manage events and hopefully we will not remain at this Level Delta 2 for long.
- Masks MUST be worn inside the Clubrooms
- There’s a limit of 50 people indoors.
- The greens should also be limited to 50 persons (less than the 100 the government recommends, and a reflection of the size of a bowling green).
- All members MUST either scan in using the QR or make a record in the Visitors Book.
Club Triples Mixed Gala – September 16
The Gala hasn’t been cancelled yet. It can’t proceed under Level 2 but it is possible we may be back in Level 1 by the 16th. We’ll know by next Monday 13th.
Wednesday Afternoon Cards
Opening the club for the cards 500 afternoon on 8th Sept is delayed for one further week – at least. This is in keeping with the need for a cautious approach particularly given the age demographics involved. If Level 2 conditions are relaxed next week then the decision will be reviewed.
Friday Afternoon Housie
Cancelled this Friday 10th Sept but we look forward to next week if there is a further easing of restrictions.
